Striped Ribbon Necklaces
Inspired by these military ribbon inspired necklaces created by Michelle Hartney aren't they pretty darn cool? Each color represents a a different human characteristic with a legend to tell you about it.

Happy February
Wishing you a Happy February with colors of red and pink. What do you think about Punxsutawney Phil, will he see his shadow tomorrow? Has anyone been to the actual ceremony in Pennsylvania, I think it would be a riot. Read about it here.

Zodiac Change

Have you heard all of the hullabaloo about the new Zodiac signs today? What did you change to? Do you consider it hogwash or are you disappointed? I switched from a Capricorn to a Sagittarius and eh it doesn't really phase me, but boy am I fascinated by the cosmos.
Recently I came across this whimsical and stunning photographic fashion spread in December's 2010 British Vogue representing the twelve signs of the zodiac and thought it would particularly suit today. The photographs are by Tim Gutt, and you can see the whole collection of photos from the series here. Very beautiful! I also did a round up of some Zodiac inspired items that you may enjoy over here.

Old Banana Ads

Going through some files on my computer I came across some old Banana Republic ads I had scanned and saved. They still seem rather beautiful and timeless.

Top Five Friday : Favorites of the week...

These hand-dyed silk ribbons look so pretty on the monitor, I bet they are even more gorgeous in person. (via Full House)
This clip about growth and nature is in the Redwood forests by Jesse Rosten is beautifully filmed and inspiring... definitely worth a watch. There is a reverence and serenity about it.

I definitely want to order up some of these Magic Milk Straws that Joy talked about. What a great idea to flavor your milk in a fun way. (photo by Oh Joy)

I pinned this space a few weeks ago but can't stop thinking about it. See the whole space here. The mix of industrial and modern is perfection.
If you ski or board you will appreciate this tilt-shift Whistler Blackcomb video clip even more, it is quite darn amazing to see the action around the slopes in this style. (via fubiz)
I also write for the Family Style section of Babble and here are five of my posts from this week where I talk about...
Five spring trends that come back every year
The new Mac App Store
The prettiest set of Parisian puzzles
The adorable new Zoo Bookends and Zoo Tableware from Skip Hop
Some great 2011 daily planners
Have a stellar weekend dear readers!

Anthropologie Christmas Window Displays 2010

Anthropologie of course had to have its separate post when it comes to window displays. They hit another home run with their various looks throughout the country this 2010 Christmas season. I love how each store has a slightly different take with their creative details.

Paul Smith + Striped Mini

Instead of the slug bug game, we play the 'Mini' game and our daughter loudly shouts "MINI" whenever we see one on the road. We miss our little ole' Mini that we used to have so when I see stuff like this ad campaign for Paul Smith kids 2011 I get a little bit nostalgic. I love the way they filled up the mini with stripes, and that it even goes on tours! How fun is that?! Talk about clever iconic marketing.

Take a ride and a walk...
Whew, my apologies for not tuning in yesterday, but I have a few great video clips I saw this past week that I wanted to share with you to take you through the weekend.

Have you seen the beautiful Hermes ads around this season, I was flipping through a magazine and came across the horse one above -- gorgeous! What about the super clever ad they done with some fingerboard action? Not sure how many skateboarders wear Hermes, but wow ... it is pretty impressive. Thoughts? I also like this Hermes ad.
Continuing on the fashion note, this second clip makes me want to hop on a plane right away and head to NYC, it is a film series by the amazing photographer Gabriel Mendes and Ani Tzenkova (for Safari Sundays +Trendland) who captured street style in New York City during fashion week. I love how motion captures a mood and feel of a city, even more than photography. Don't you want to see more clips like this of cities all around the world? What city would you want to see most? See more Talk a Walk style clips from here -- ( I really like this one) they are so fun to watch.
Hope you are having a fabulous weekend!

Oh Calypso!

I wandered over to Calypso St. Barth's website today and was yet again inspired by their looks. Can't wait to fit into normal clothes again, I'm going through the after baby tweener size thing -- hopefully not for too long!

Things We Love

One of my sponsors Felt & Wire has a fantastic interview up on their site about Kate Spade's book -- 'Things we Love' which is a printed offshoot of their super cool website. It was interesting to hear about the printing process in the interview which is a behind the scenes science and art that doesn't always get mentioned. Read the entire interview here.

Dress the Part

How clever are these redesigned movie posters inspired by men's style? Each piece highlights a classic menswear piece from ten different movies. See the entire collection here. EveryGuyed presented them and they are designed by Moxy Creative illustrated by James Alexander Mathers and Andrew Lau.

Fashion Inspiration to Collection
Susan tipped me off to this great slide show of fashion designer’s inspiration for their spring collections. Since fashion week has come and gone, I thought it would be fun to see how the inspiration was translated. I’m so surprised I loved Christian Siriano’s collection although his inspiration photo didn’t catch my eye. It probably helps that he’s buddies with my bf, Tim Gunn. That’s best friend not boyfriend.
