Happy Friday!
Wishing you a great and relaxing weekend! Here are some things around the web that made me happy this week....
1: Peggy scanned in some more beautiful photos from the Banana Republic Ads, they are so... gorgeous!
2: Merrilee from Mer Meg has it going on -- you've got to see this post of the valentine's she and her little ones did. She also has a free download.
3: Have you heard of the Google Art Project? For you all of you art lovers, it is a virtual tour into some of the best museums where you can see famous and beautiful works for art. You can pretend you are walking around, you can zoom in pretty tight to see detail, it is so amazing!
Happy Weekend!

Nature Moment: Transforming
Nature is amazing, today while driving I spotted and had to turn around the car to stop and capture these frozen waves that are part of a normally free flowing river. It made me think about transformation, do you ever have interesting thought-provoking moments with the forces of nature? What magical nature scenes or moments have you seen lately?

Bubbles in Paris
I'm pretty obsessed with these photographs by Melvin Sokolsky, aren't they are incredible?! What makes them even more special is that they were taken in Paris in 1963 when there wasn't Zorbs or computers to do photo alterations. Looks like all crane and pulley systems used here! These shots call for new use of my recently made-up word ... 'j'mazing'! Have you ever put two words together on accident creating a new one? What do you think of these shots? See more here. Zodiac Change

Have you heard all of the hullabaloo about the new Zodiac signs today? What did you change to? Do you consider it hogwash or are you disappointed? I switched from a Capricorn to a Sagittarius and eh it doesn't really phase me, but boy am I fascinated by the cosmos.
Recently I came across this whimsical and stunning photographic fashion spread in December's 2010 British Vogue representing the twelve signs of the zodiac and thought it would particularly suit today. The photographs are by Tim Gutt, and you can see the whole collection of photos from the series here. Very beautiful! I also did a round up of some Zodiac inspired items that you may enjoy over here.

Christian Tagliavini - 1503

I am moved by the lighting, costumes and more in this visionary Renaissance photo project called '1503' by Swiss/Italian photographer Christian Tagliavini. At first I couldn't tell if these were paintings or photographs, they are spectacular!

Cheryl Maeder

There is something mysterious and dreamy about photography that plays with focus and depth of field. These photographs almost seem like little impressionist paintings, don't you think? Beautiful! I was so happy Cheryl Maeder let me know about her dreamscapes. She will be showing in a Galerie Mark Hachem at the Place des Vosges in Paris November 17-30th.

Alain Delorme

Here is a fascinating conceptual photography project by French photographer Alain Delorme called 'Totems'. Although exaggerated for effect, this is amazing to think about, no? How many of you have seen people carrying extremely large loads? I have -- and it is quite humbling. It makes me think in a different perspective. See more photographs here.
From his website it states:
"The new Totems series by Alain Delorme plunges us into the core of contemporary China and its complexity. Under the blue sky of a highly colored Shanghai, men carry throughout the city unbelievable piles. These precarious columns made of cardboard or chairs appear as new totems of a society in complete transformation, both a factory for the world and a new El Dorado of the market economy." Lions and Tigers

Loving this collaboration of lions and tigers between Sharon Montrose and Elizabeth Soule. Lately our daughter V likes to pretend she is a lion/tiger, and dog. In fact, her dog bark sounds so real, that a friend I was talking to on the phone overheard her barks and thought we had got a dog. How many of your kids get into 'method acting' mode and pretend they are animals? Aren't these photographs fantastic? Rwwrrarh...

Ami Sioux/Paris

Photographer Ami Sioux's book, Paris 48°49N, 2°29E, is most intriguing. She asked 50 people to draw a map of a part of Paris that was signficant or important to him or her. Then, Ami visited each spot to photograph it. The book, comprised of these juxtaposed sets, is both personal and informative. It would make a lovely souvenir, or could inspire someone to visit for the very first time ....
Ami's first book in the series was Reykjavik. Books for New York and Tokyo are planned.

Camera Love

I have a little obsession with cameras right now. My collection is very small, but it's slowly starting to grow. I just can't get enough of the dreamy look you get with instant and toy cameras, as you can see here, here and here. And I'm always on the lookout for the perfect camera bag. Impossible? Maybe, but I love what their doing at Fungus Workshop in Hong Kong. It's a handmade leather bags and accessories workshop and just look at this lovely creation by Patrick Ng. I especially like the "love camera" flag detail. You can see more creations here.

Mila's Daydreams

Gabrielle shared a post to a website that is super clever -- it immediately made me grin. Adele a creative mother in Helsinki, tries to imagine her baby's dreams and captures them while she is sleeping, you've got to check out the rest of the photos -- what a awesome idea!
