create your own fabric

Flipping through the pages of the latest Canadian House & Home magazine, I came across this website - SpoonFlower.com - that allows you to create your own custom fabric! Wow...this sounds like fun! Apparently you can create a design or drawing, upload your images, play with layout options, and then place your order for $18/yard. Perfect for crafty sewing projects when you just can't find the right fabric...I think I might give this a go!

tonic living

Some fabrics I am coveting from Tonic Living, a wonderful online fabric store based in Toronto. Their prices are amazing and they have a great selection. I've ordered samples to see if they will work for some projects I am thinking of. Stay tuned!

The fabrics are:
1. Garden Trellis, Black
{this apparently a knock-off of Kelly Wearstler's Imperial Trellis which is usually $180/yard! Thanks to the Little Green Notebook for this key piece of information!
}
2. Garden Trellis, Lime

3. Chelsea, Maize
4. Norma, Orangina

beautiful mismatches

A few days ago, Joelle Bloomer stumbled on a most awesomely inspired wedding ever on Flickr photos. The mismatched details are so so so cute, and well, surprisingly well-matched. It's a mismatched match, hardy har har. Methinks it could be a pretty good do-it-yourself project... take a look at some of frecklegirl76's inspiration
{via Design Sponge}.

all mismatched yet matching vintage vera napkins - with different patterns!

cute little jars of maple syrup with the same mismatched matching fabric
And here, take a glimpse at all of the patterns of the vintage vera napkins:

it's amazing how they all come together so sweetly...

And voila, the big picture of frecklegirl76's wedding!

pillow talk

On a bit of a cheerier note, my Amy Butler fabric pillow cases have arrived! A longtime fan of Amy Butler, I have been meaning to buy some of her fabric to create cushions for my couch. So you can imagine how excited I was to find LindyLou's Etsy shop, where she sells all sorts of colourful ready-to-be-stuffed pillow cases, starting at $10 each. Soooo worth it for a pathetic sewer like me! These would make some great Christmas presents too.

fabric...glorious fabric!

I have to say this "Practice Wedding" idea is a dream come true. I highly recommend it to anyone - even if they aren't having their real wedding in Israel! That is two opportunities to decorate to your hearts content!

So, lately I've been consumed by fabric. There are just so many yummy designs I can hardly contain myself. I kind of want to cover everything I own right now. I have a sneaky suspicion this could get out of hand in a very scary way!

Luckily Toronto-based on-line fabric store Tonic Living is there to feed my addiction. And at such amazingly affordable prices too! I could sit here all day and just look...as a matter of fact...I think I just did!
