I am very pleased to announce that my sister Shayna's Vintage Circus Wedding - one that inBloom styled and designed - is featured in an amazing 4-page layout in Canada's coveted WedLuxe magazine! It is a beautiful magazine that feels more like a book, with thick shiny pages and amazing photography.
Here is a look at some of the wedding photos {taken by the amazingly talented Ikonica}, and you can see more at the inBloom Event Design website on the Gallery page and at the Bloomerism blog. Enjoy!
Weddings in Israel are a lot different than weddings in North America! First of all they are huge - sometimes 500 people or more! And secondly - they are casual. People show up in jeans and cargo pants! And thirdly - it basically doesn't rain there in the summer so no tents required for outdoor weddings! It's pretty much guaranteed.
My sister Shayna's wedding was quite beautiful - on the beach at sunset. Here are some highlights of the day!
Some of our casual and pretty white centrepieces are featured in the Fall/Winter 2009 issue ofWedding Bells magazine! See above for the article on the top right of the page {you can click the photos to make them larger}. Thanks so much to the great gals at Wedding Bells, and also to Jessica who helped make it happen with her awesome tweets!
Here are a few teaser shot of my sister's Vintage Circus Wedding that took place last weekend...as I mentioned, we can't show too many shots until they are published in a magazine in December, but I can barely contain myself, so I just had to share a few!
I just loved this little bluegrass song 'Pretty Flowers' written by Steve Martin {the comedian!} that was performed on the American Idol finale last night {yay Kris although I would have been happy either way}. So cute and sweet and charming. It would work perfectly as a wedding song for a rustic, garden wedding...or for a quirky circus wedding, like my sister's, perhaps?!
{note: the American Idol version of this performance was taken off of YouTube so instead I've posted another version from Steve Martin's album...I think I like the American Idol version better but this is cute too!}
Over the weekend my sisters and I decorated a big tent at the Wooden Sticks Golf Course in Uxbridge for a wedding show on Sunday. We went with a Woodland Chic theme to match the gorgeous natural surroundings and paired a fresh Springy green with a rich chocolate brown. For centrepieces, we used wooden sticks {well...they were actually cherry blossom branches} and green spider mums, along with beautiful green and white lanterns. It was just a mock wedding but it turned out beautifully! See Bloomerism for more information and pics! {photography by Craig Morrison and moi}
So here are some shots of the weekend event we just did at Wooden Sticks Golf Course in Uxbridge. Despite the cold, hurricane-like winter storm, we managed to decorate the pretty tent, amidst fears of blowing away! We decorated the tent in a style we like to call "Woodland Chic" - fresh spring green and chocolate browns accented with branches with white blossoms, square white plates, and a natural white lighting effect on the walls of the tent for brightness (thanks to Adam at Pandor Productions) for a clean, but oh so inviting look. No one left their seats for hours! Take a look and breathe in the freshness of our woodland inspired design...inBloom has teamed up with Gervais Party Rentals to offer this design to all Wooden Sticks brides and grooms. Stay tuned, more pics to come! {photography by Craig Morrison and Joelle Segal }
This is my 100th blog post! Yay! Remember my post a while back about photographer Jan von Holleben and his Dreams of Flying project? This bride and groom photographed their Save the Dates in a similar style - so cute and creative! In fact, take a look at their entire wedding - the bride is a graphic designer and it's no surprise. Everything is beautifully done, and a source of inspiration from beginning to end. {via Once Wed} Happy weekend!
I know, it is still only January and I am trying very hard to enjoy winter. I am attempting to view the snow with fresh eyes - it really is beautiful! And I'm trying hard to appreciate the -18 degree Celsius temperatures as cozy {especially when you are all bundled up or sipping a hot chocolate}. But I couldn't help sneak a peek at these beautiful and springy images from Artfool. Just look at those cherry blossoms and the soft, gorgeous colours of this wedding! A girl can dream...
