mimosa mimosa mimosa!

Maybe if we say "mimosa" three times fast, we'll feel all warm and fuzzy inside! Apparently Pantone, the global colour authority, named PANTONE 14-0848 Mimosa as the color of the year for 2009. They call it warm and engaging, and say that in a time of economic uncertainty and political change, optimism is paramount and no other color expresses hope and reassurance more than yellow. How lovely! Not only do I love the colour mimosa, and does it go with almost everything, but I actually also love the mimosa plant too. I've been filing some of my favourite mimosa wedding florals away, and decided to put them all together now, in honour of the new colour trend! Hallelujah mimosa - you've been waiting a long time for these honours!

I pulled this out of my Bride and Bloom magazine a long time ago, because I found this bouquet to be delightfully yummy!

Ok, this is not mimosa the flower, but the colour's the same, and I thought this was a cool idea for a ceremony, rather than using expensive poms!

Circlesquare - Dancers

Inspired by Robert Longo's 1979 series of drawings entitled, "Men in the Cities" shown above, the music video 'Dancers' by Circlesquare is very cool in a wish I could move like that kind of way. I love a well-done dance sequence. It is directed by Bienvenido Cruz, and features dancers Miles Faber, Vincent Noiseux, Julie Chapple, and Alison Denham. Springing into March

Can you believe it is March already? We're getting closer to Spring and speaking of Anthropologie in the last post, I am liking these March looks they are showing on their website.

Anthropologie Encyclopedia

Kristina Contes put together her own little Anthropolgie Encyclopedia full of images she loved relating to the store. Wow... very cool, amazing. If you are into Anthropologie, creativity, and handmade books, you'll probably want to take a further peek.

Kaarina Kaikkonen

Have you seen the work of artist/sculptor Kaarina Kaikkonen from Finland? I am intrigued by the photos from her exhibitions. She mainly uses found objects to create a statement, and here is what she noted on this website :

"Countless works and installations I have built, mostly straight into their spaces. Through my work I try to search my constantly changing outline. I need an outline to understand myself more clearly - to understand where the internal ends and the external begins."

Tulie Bakery

Seriously, Tulie Bakery is amazing, my new favorite local bakery. I was happily introduced by my friend Stephanie, and she wrote all about it in a post here. If you are nearby SLC or coming to the area for a visit, it is a 'must stop'. Besides their scrumptious cakes, bakery delights, and über cool french industrial modern ambiance, (totally my style) they even have letterpress business cards... need I say more?
