Embellished Ink

Check out these charming and fresh letterpress cards from Embellished Ink. Amy Bannecker recently came out with her debut line of responsibly printed letterpress greeting cards. Isn't the Embellished Ink logo great too? Find all of her lovely cards here.

Some friends recently had portraits taken of their newborn and I was so impressed with the bright and colourful images! I think what I admire about photographer Kelly Gemmell the most is that she uses natural light, and beautiful hats and blankets, most of them hand-knitted by Canadian designers that were purchased on Etsy. And her pricing is extremely reasonable! If you have a little cutie {or cuties} and you live in the Toronto area, get to Kelly Gemmell pronto! Enjoy...

I am a fan of Julie Morstad's work, especially her work in this book and the print above available on her website.

I was delighted to see that there is now a ABC flashcard set with her illustrations, it is very cute.

What to read in Hawaii (or poolside anywhere)

What I read...

vacation-reading

The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz
I loved this but it isn't really poolside reading. I don't think I did it justice, because I was putting it down and picking it up and splashing water all over it and getting distracted by waiters with pina coladas. It deserves better treatment, like a quiet afternoon on the couch with a cup of tea.

The Boleyn Inheritance by Phillipa Gregory
This is not fine literature but it's addictive, particularly if you are an avid historical fiction fan like I am. Start with The Other Boleyn Sister (I'd already read it).

Towards Zero by Agatha Christie
I love the Dame. This was a re-read for me (I've read every single mystery she's ever written) but I found it for a buck at a used book store and I needed back up material. Perfect escapist fun.

Deadline Post-It Notes

This is clever + cool, it took 3 months of planning, 4 days shooting and 6,000+ post-it notes. See how they did it here. Filmed by Jay Tseng and edited by Bang-yao Liu.

circus hairs

I went for my hair and makeup trial for the circus wedding and it was everything I wanted and more!!! I wanted a messy bouffant hair style with an Audrey Hepburn smokey eye for the makeup. I'm really happy with how it turned out!

I'm so excited with how everything is starting to pull together...the countdown is on!
