shayna bloomer's israel wedding {part ii}

The Bloomers are making their way back home to Toronto one by one! Thanks for staying tuned while we were in Israel...it was tricky posting while we were away, but Melanie was very determined despite the complicated Hebrew web browser {the 'back' button pointed forward, and the menu options were anyone's guess!}. Thanks so much for your comments...keep 'em coming! We love to hear from our fellow Bloomers!

We are still waiting for the professional shots of the wedding, however we just wanted to share a bit more until then!

The messy side bun!

Some shots of the beautiful venue, Shonit. It doesn't rain in Israel in the summer {forecast: sunny and hot across the board} so the ceremony, dinner and dancing were held outside, uncovered, on the beach. So lovely.

The Bloomers!

We were all a part of the ceremony so we didn't get very many photos of the bride and groom together. Not to worry, the pros got a bunch! Here is a shot of Shayna and Dan dancing...more to come so stay tuned...

here i am...in the holy land!

I've made it! The wedding is on Sunday and it is now Tuesday and I have to say after the last 2 days of utter stress and chaos it looks like I might be on my way to having my loverly Israeli beach wedding. Wedding Planning 101 does NOT teach you how to navigate the wedding world in another language and culture! I think I'm ready for pretty much everything now...the biggest lesson ever...never assume anything and expect the worse...ha! Oh and if you think you are both talking about the same thing, find a second person to translate because chances are you are not!
On a positive side, I did have a great hair trial with the hair stylist I booked that I never met or tried out...phew! He came highly recommended from my makeup artist who gave me the much anticipated vogue cheek so I figured I was in good hands {only 5 more days until my vogue cheek and I are reunited!} We are going to go with the braided Molly Sims hair-did but he is going to gather it up in the back for the ceremony and when the sun goes down and its less hot he wants me to let it loose down my shoulder like in the picture. I like the versatility of this!

And I promise to finally post the pics of my Kate Hudson dress as soon as the wedding is over. It is still being hidden from the eyes of my D. He got all superstitious on me.
So today I think after a couple more errands this morning we will take some time for ourselves and do a little sunbathing on the beach. Yipppeeee!

sold! one orange orchid bouquet please!

Joelle and Melanie Bloomer found me an orange bouquet for my Israeli beach wedding finally! Who knew that would be the thing that caused me most of the problems!! Anyone remember the make-up trials?! I thought that would be the hardest part.

I was trying to be "different" and stay away from orchids because everyone was telling me that orchids were the flower to get in Israel but I just didn't want to get everyone else's flowers. Israel is hot and humid...they should have a ton of flowers that we don't have right?! Anyways, doesn't matter, my Bloomers found me a gorgeous and unique orchid bouquet that will perfectly suit my simple Kate Hudson/You Me & Dupree wedding gown and my aqua and orange colour scheme! It suits Israels strange lack of exotic flowers and it suits me! Loverly....

Here it is...they found it in Wedluxe magazine! Loving the beachy trails of orchids hanging down from it.

poppies for bloomers!

I was still trying to figure out the kind of bouquet I want for the Israel beach wedding. I keep envisioning giant orange flowers but I was having so much trouble finding a good inspiration pic on the internet. Then, low and behold, Melanie Bloomer and I spotted the cover of this month's Brides Magazine and it is the perfect bouquet! How come I didn't think of poppies?! We only have a garden full of them right now!

Turns out these are Icelandic Poppies. The name itself is making me fearful they don't exist in hot and humid Israel. Plus poppy season is just ending so I'm crossing my fingers they will be able to get them for me because now my heart is set!

So, not only has Brides.com been ridiculously kind to us, they even went so far as to post this glorious picture of a wedding in my very own aqua and orange colours that uses Icelandic poppies!!! Oh my...I think I might be wanting to change my table setting...eeek!

Look at the adorable little tin on each place setting with a squashed flower underneath!! Hee hee!

And here is a purdy bouquet on Martha Martha Martha...a little too structured for my beach wedding but stunning nonetheless!
